WATCH AND LEARN FROM CHILDREN HOW TO MAKE GREAT POPCORN AT HOME!
Here's how to make some popcorn at home the healthy - and easy way:
A light oil like safflower, vegetable , peanut, etc.
1/2 - 1 cup popcorn kernels
a tall metal pot with a lid (if you don't have a lid- use aluminum foil)
flavorings like: butter, salt, brown sugar, honey, or whatever you like
a big metal bowl
a large spoon
Pour just enough oil into the pot to coat the bottom. This will keep the corn from sticking and burning. Place it on the stove and set it to medium-high heat. Let the oil get hot, then carefully add the corn kernels. Put the lid on it.
Soon. The kernels should be begin rapidly popping. With the lid on, gently shake pot so that all of the kernels will settle to the bottom and have a chance to pop. When the popping slows down to 3-4 second intervals, remove the pot from the heat.
Take the lid off so the steam can escape. You don't want soggy popcorn.
Transfer the popcorn into a large bowl and add the seasonings of your choice. Stir it all up thoroughly with a large spoon.
